American artist Ed Ruscha has noted how painted words in his artworks are unconstrained by a sense of scale. Texts can whisper as billboards, visual morsels, one-liners, movie credits, and so on. Add to that, enjambment, a poetry term which refers to phrasing that straddles or spills onto the next line, intentionally or not affecting its reading. The following pieces were conceived along these lines, as wall texts, projections, tickler files of index cards, captions effervescing over the internet, et cetera.
