"Lateral Move" features a homeless person's shopping cart that the artist rented from its owner and stored in the gallery as a courtesy during San Francisco's rainy season — displayed next to a similar cart curated with New Age goods purchased from a health food store of an equivalent dollar amount. "Sweeping Generalizations" proposes the scenario of a missionary demonstrating how condoms work, whereupon all the broom handles in the village become literally sheathed, yet infant mortality rates holds steady. "Pablum" encapsulates the then current practice in Northern California of tying yellow ribbons around tree trunks and lamp posts during the Gulf War, in support of troops deployed to bomb Bagdad.
