Pictures of Pictures

Collected from surrealist, auteur and pop culture movies, travel pamphlets, magazine advertisements, cookbooks, etc., these collages play with sequencing and various forms of punctuation. Their inspiration comes from Eadweard Muybridge's Animal Locomotion series, specifically his 1873 stop-motion images of a galloping horse, which is believed to have led to the birth modern cinema. Selections from this body of work have been exhibited at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, CA in 2005; California Center for the Arts in Escondido, CA; La Jolla Athenaeum in San Diego, CA in 2025.
